Even the Odds is best suited to a creature-light white control, flash, or spellslinger deck that wants a cheap instant-speed way to stabilize against wider creature boards, provide surprise blockers, or generate bodies for sacrifice, convoke, or anthem effects; it is generally poor in dedicated token decks because those decks often control as many creatures as their opponents and cannot reliably meet its restriction. **Spectral Procession** is usually better when available, since it makes the same three flying tokens for effectively three white mana with no “behind on creatures” condition, while **Secure the Wastes** is a more flexible instant-speed token maker in Commander and mana-rich games, albeit less efficient at exactly three mana. Even the Odds is playable as a niche budget or metagame call—especially where opponents routinely deploy several creatures—but its restrictive casting condition means it is not a staple and normally should be replaced by more reliable token production
