it is not a card you can include directly in a deck, but, if a card creates one, it benefits explosive combo and fast mana strategies by converting one artifact into three mana of a chosen color for a pivotal early turn. The actual Black Lotus is functionally the same but is restricted in Vintage and banned elsewhere, while cards such as Lotus Petal, Jeweled Lotus (Commander only), and Mana Crypt are more accessible alternatives depending on the format, though none is universally better because they produce less colored mana or have restrictions. This token's effect is exceptionally strong and should absolutely be used whenever it is created and can meaningfully accelerate a winning line, but its playability is entirely determined by the card that makes it and the format's legality rules.
