**Culling Ritual** is best suited for Golgari (black-green) midrange, control, or ramp decks that want a powerful catch-up tool against go-wide aggro, token, or low-curve strategies, as it destroys all nonland permanents with mana value 2 or less and then gives you black or green mana for each permanent destroyed this way—often generating a huge mana swing while wiping most small threats, Treasures, mana dorks, and cheap engines. It shines especially in Commander and certain Standard/Pioneer metagames where low-cost permanents are common, but it’s weaker against midrange or control decks built around higher-cost threats.
