Grave Consequences could be beneficial in a black control deck that focuses on graveyard interaction, such as a reanimator or self-mill strategy. However, there are better cards with similar effects, such as Nihil Spellbomb or Tormod's Crypt, which provide more efficient graveyard hate. Grave Consequences may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high cost and limited impact compared to other graveyard hate options.
