A graveyard-focused deck, such as a Golgari or Sultai midrange or control deck, would benefit from running Make a Wish in order to recur key cards from the graveyard. However, there are potentially better options like Regrowth or Eternal Witness that provide more targeted graveyard recursion. Make a Wish could see play in more casual or budget decks, but competitive decks may opt for more efficient options.

If you only have one card in your graveyard when Make a Wish resolves, that card will be returned to your hand.

Make a Wish isn’t put into its owner’s graveyard until it is finished resolving, so it can’t be returned by its own effect.
