Venom Sliver would be particularly beneficial in a Sliver tribal deck that focuses on aggressive strategies, as it enhances the offensive and defensive capabilities of your Sliver creatures by granting them deathtouch, making it difficult for opponents to block effectively. While there are other cards that can provide similar benefits, such as Briar Hydra or Glistener Elf in specific builds, Venom Sliver's synergy with other Slivers makes it a strong choice for a dedicated Sliver deck. Given its low mana cost and the ability to create a formidable board presence, it should see play in such decks, especially in formats where Slivers are viable.

If you change the creature type of a Sliver you control so it’s no longer a Sliver, it will no longer be affected by its own ability. Its ability will continue to affect other Sliver creatures you control.

Slivers in this set affect only Sliver creatures you control. They don’t grant bonuses to your opponents’ Slivers. This is the same way Slivers from the Magic 2014 core set worked, while Slivers in earlier sets granted bonuses to all Slivers.
