Tablet of Discovery fits best in red-based spellslinger or graveyard-synergy decks that care about casting lots of instants and sorceries, such as Izzet (UR) Prowess, Phoenix, or Commander decks built around spell recursion, because it both fuels the graveyard and temporarily gives access to the milled card while acting as a ritual-like mana source for spells; the first ability helps enable flashback, jump-start, escape, or delve, and the second tap mode effectively generates two mana toward noncreature spell chains, which can support explosive turns. However, at three mana it competes with stronger options like Arcane Signet (better general ramp), Izzet Signet (cheaper fixing), Pyretic Ritual / Desperate Ritual (more efficient burst for combo turns), Birgi, God of Storytelling (repeatable spell-based mana), or Underworld Breach (much stronger graveyard exploitation), and compared to cards like Experimental Synthesizer or Reckless Impulse, the card-advantage aspect is less reliable sin
