Decks that utilize banding can benefit from its ability to mitigate damage by distributing it among multiple blockers, making it useful in a strategy that combines walls and other banding creatures. However, there are arguably better options available, such as Wall of Omens, which provides card draw while also being a defender, or other walls with higher toughness or additional abilities that contribute to a control strategy. While Wall of Shields can find a niche in certain decks, it may not see widespread play due to the availability of more versatile cards.
