A control or stax deck that aims to slow down the game and limit opponents' actions would benefit from using Rule of Law in Magic: The Gathering. While Rule of Law can be effective in certain situations, there are better cards like Eidolon of Rhetoric or Ethersworn Canonist that have additional abilities or are more difficult to remove, making them potentially more impactful in the current metagame. Whether Rule of Law should see play depends on the specific strategy and goals of the deck, as well as the overall game plan of the player.

Rule of Law looks at the entire turn to see if a player has cast a spell, even if Rule of Law wasn’t on the battlefield when that spell was cast. Notably, you can’t cast Rule of Law and then cast another spell during the same turn.
