Repulsor Rays would fit best in an aggressive red deck—such as Mono-Red Aggro, Burn, or a low-curve tempo strategy—that wants efficient, cheap removal to clear blockers and maintain pressure while advancing its own threats. However, as a one-mana sorcery that deals 3 damage only to a creature, it would generally be outclassed by cards like **Lightning Bolt** (which can also target players or planeswalkers at instant speed), **Play with Fire** (which can hit players and provides card selection), or **Lightning Strike** (instant speed and flexible targeting), all of which offer greater versatility and reach. Because it cannot go to the opponent’s face and is limited to sorcery speed, Repulsor Rays would likely see little to no competitive play unless the format lacks better burn spells or strongly rewards creature-only removal at that exact rate.
