This card, The Wanderer, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to protect itself and its permanents from noncombat damage while also having the ability to deal with big threats by exiling creatures with power 4 or greater. However, there are other cards like Teferi, Time Raveler or Teferi, Hero of Dominaria that offer more versatile and powerful abilities for a similar mana cost, making them potentially better choices for competitive play, but The Wanderer could still see play in certain metagames or strategies that require its specific protection and removal abilities.
