While Armillary Sphere provides a reliable way to search for basic lands, there are potentially better cards like Rampant Growth or Farseek that provide similar effects at a lower cost and without the need to sacrifice the artifact. However, Armillary Sphere could still see play in budget decks or decks that require redundancy in their mana fixing options.
