Burdened Stoneback would fit best in a white-based +1/+1 counter or counter-manipulation deck (such as one using cards like Conclave Mentor, Luminarch Aspirant, or proliferate effects) where the -1/-1 counters can be removed efficiently to turn it into an above-rate body while fueling its indestructibility ability; it could also function in slower, grindy Commander decks that value repeatable protection at sorcery speed. However, it is likely too slow and inefficient for competitive Constructed formats, as cards like Selfless Spirit, Dauntless Bodyguard, Skrelv, Defector Mite, or even Guardian of Faith provide cheaper, instant-speed, or broader protection without requiring multiple turns of setup.
