Chatterstorm would benefit a deck focused on casting multiple spells in a turn, such as a Storm or Spellslinger deck, where the Storm mechanic can create a swarm of Squirrel tokens. However, in competitive Magic: the Gathering, there are more efficient cards like Empty the Warrens or Grapeshot that are better suited for Storm decks due to their higher potential for damage output. Chatterstorm may see play in more casual or budget decks looking to create a fun and thematic experience with Squirrel tokens.

The copies are put directly onto the stack. They aren't cast and won't be counted by other spells with storm cast later in the turn.

The triggered ability that creates the copies can itself be countered by anything that can counter a triggered ability. If it is countered, no copies will be put onto the stack.
