Divining Duelist fits best in tempo-oriented Merfolk, Wizard, or flash-speed decks, where holding up mana is desirable and its flexibility can either disrupt an attacker/blocker, untap a key creature for combat or an activated ability, or smooth a draw with looting; it is also reasonable in Limited and casual Commander decks with ETB, blink, or creature-tapping synergies. For competitive Constructed, though, its effects are fairly low impact for three mana: **Merfolk Trickster** is usually better in Merfolk tempo because it costs only two mana, flashes in, taps a creature, and removes that creature’s abilities for the turn, while **Aether Channeler** is generally a stronger three-mana flexible blue creature because bouncing a creature is much more impactful than merely tapping it. Divining Duelist should see play mainly as a synergy card or Limited role-player, rather than as a broadly powerful staple, unless its power and toughness are unusually strong or the format heavily rewards un
