The exile clause is valuable against decks that rely on death triggers or graveyard value, but at four mana for single-target creature-only removal, it’s generally inefficient compared to stronger red options. Cards like **Lightning Bolt**, **Abrade**, **Roast**, **Flame Slash**, **Rending Volley**, or **Fable of the Mirror-Breaker** (indirectly via value generation) are often more efficient depending on format, and **Unholy Heat** or **Leyline Binding** (in multicolor decks) outclass it in competitive environments.
