Gleaming Splendor fits best in multiplayer Commander “group-hug,” political, or forced-draw decks that encourage opponents to draw extra cards through wheels, Howling Mine effects, or cards such as Kami of the Crescent Moon, while using the resulting Treasures to power bigger plays; it is less attractive in normal white decks because it does nothing unless opponents draw a second card and its activated ability is expensive at three mana for two cards split between players. **Smothering Tithe** is generally much better: it triggers on every card opponents draw, not merely their second each turn, and opponents must pay mana to stop the Treasure, making it one of white’s strongest ramp cards. **Faerie Mastermind** is also often better in blue decks if you want to profit from opponents’ second draws, since it draws you cards for only two mana.
