Grub’s Command would fit best in a Rakdos (black-red) Goblin tribal deck, especially one that’s midrange or sacrifice-focused rather than hyper-aggro, since at five mana (3BR) it’s competing with more explosive plays; the most relevant modes are copying a key Goblin (like a value engine or lord), destroying an artifact or creature for flexibility, or refilling your hand if you mill Goblins, which gives it some grindy utility. However, most competitive Goblin decks (in formats like Modern or Pioneer) are low-curve and proactive, and five mana is steep compared to stronger, more focused options: Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker is generally a better repeatable Goblin copier; Sling-Gang Lieutenant, Munitions Expert, or Goblin Ringleader provide immediate impact and synergy; Kolaghan’s Command offers cheaper, instant-speed flexibility; and cards like Boggart Harbinger or Mogg War Marshal are more efficient for tribal synergy.
