This card, Infectious Curse, would benefit a control deck that aims to drain the opponent's life slowly while gaining life to prolong the game. It could work well in a deck that focuses on disruption and attrition, allowing for cheaper targeted spells and incremental life gain. However, there are potentially better options like Curse of Misfortunes or Curse of Thirst that offer more impactful effects, so Infectious Curse may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.
