While it provides card selection with its enter-the-battlefield ability, there are potentially stronger Merfolk cards available, such as Silvergill Adept, which offers card draw in addition to being a Merfolk. Inkfathom Divers could see play in casual or theme-based decks, but competitive Merfolk decks may opt for more powerful options.
