**Lasting Tarfire** would fit best in a red-based counters deck—particularly ones that reliably put +1/+1 counters on creatures every turn, such as Gruul or Rakdos aggro/midrange builds using mechanics like Riot, Training, Backup, or other repeatable counter engines (e.g., creatures that grow when attacking or when spells are cast). It could also slot into more synergy-driven Commander decks built around +1/+1 counters (like Halana and Alena, Reyhan, or Animar variants splashing red), where triggering it on multiple players’ turns increases its value.
