Loki’s Scepter fits best in aggressive red decks—especially sacrifice (“aristocrats”), go-wide aggro, or combo-leaning builds—that can exploit temporary theft effects by attacking immediately or sacrificing the stolen creature for value; turning the creature into a Villain is mostly flavor unless you have Villain tribal synergies, but the untap + haste clause is strong for swing turns. In Commander, it would shine in decks like Korvold, Mayhem Devil, or any Threaten-style strategy that abuses Act of Treason effects. However, compared to existing cards, it’s likely underpowered: **Act of Treason**, **Claim the Firstborn**, and **Threaten** are cheaper for pure theft, while **Zealous Conscripts** and **Portent of Betrayal** provide stronger or broader impact, and **Captivating Crew** offers repeatable theft without needing a tap for mana ability; even **The Akroan War** or **Mass Mutiny** can generate more value in multiplayer.
