A Gruul aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering would benefit from using Mage Slayer as it enhances the deck's aggressive strategy by dealing direct damage to the opponent when equipped creatures attack. While there may be better equipment cards available, such as Sword of Fire and Ice or Sword of Feast and Famine, Mage Slayer could still see play in specific metagames where its ability to bypass blockers and deal direct damage is particularly effective.
