However, there are arguably better options depending on the format, such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel in a devotion deck or Kaya, Orzhov Usurper for more versatile life drain and removal. Overall, while Aurora of Emrakul has its merits, it may not be a staple in competitive play compared to these alternatives.
