A deck focused on sacrificing creatures and gaining life through combat would benefit from including Fell Beast of Mordor, especially in a mono-black or black-green deck with sacrifice synergies. While there are stronger life gain cards available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel for mono-black devotion decks, Fell Beast of Mordor could still see play in a casual or themed deck centered around sacrificing and life drain tactics, especially if the player enjoys the flavor of Mordor and dragons.
