Selfless Safewright fits best in a creature-dense green tribal deck (like Elves, Humans, Soldiers, or any go-wide typal strategy) that wants to protect its board from sweepers or targeted removal, especially in formats like Commander where tribal synergies are common; flash plus convoke makes it easier to hold up interaction while developing your board, and the temporary hexproof and indestructible can blow out board wipes such as *Wrath of God* or spot removal in response. That said, there are generally stronger and cheaper protection options: *Heroic Intervention* is more efficient at just 1G and protects all your permanents without needing a chosen type, *Teferi’s Protection* is far more powerful in white, and in tribal decks specifically *Wrap in Vigor*, *Boros Charm*, or even creature-based options like *Dauntless Escort* or *Selfless Spirit* often cost less and don’t require five mana; compared to these, Safewright is somewhat slow and conditional, so it would mainly see play in
