A deck that focuses on gaining life consistently would benefit most from using Aerith Gainsborough, as the card's ability to put +1/+1 counters on itself and then distribute those counters to other legendary creatures upon its death synergizes well with a strategy revolving around incremental life gain. However, there are better cards out there for enhancing a life gain strategy, such as Archangel of Thune, which provides a more immediate impact by putting +1/+1 counters on all of your creatures whenever you gain life. Given the potential for stronger options in a life gain deck, Aerith Gainsborough may not see widespread play.
