While Renewal can provide a temporary mana boost by sacrificing a land to search for a basic land card, there are better cards like Rampant Growth or Cultivate that offer similar benefits without the additional cost of sacrificing a land. Renewal may not see as much play in competitive decks due to its drawbacks compared to more efficient ramp spells.
