However, the self-inflicted damage may deter some players from including it in their deck. The card could be replaced by more efficient dual lands like Godless Shrine or Isolated Chapel, which provide the same color fixing without the drawback of dealing damage to the player. Ultimately, Salt Flats may not see much play in competitive decks due to its downside.
