**Saved by the Shell** would fit best in a green-based aggro or midrange deck—especially one built around Turtles or a +1/+1 counter strategy—because it functions as both protection and a combat trick, letting you win fights, push damage through with trample, and blank removal thanks to hexproof and indestructible; in a dedicated Turtle deck it’s particularly efficient at just **G**, making it a strong tempo play. However, outside of Turtle synergy, there are generally stronger or more flexible options: **Tamiyo’s Safekeeping** (G) protects a permanent and gains 2 life more reliably, **Snakeskin Veil** (G) gives hexproof and a +1/+1 counter permanently at instant speed, **Tyvar’s Stand** scales into a finisher while granting hexproof and indestructible, and **Blossoming Defense** (if legal in the format) is often more mana-efficient for pure protection. While Saved by the Shell is powerful due to granting trample plus indestructible in one card, it is somewhat niche and would mainly se
