A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and resource management, such as a Dimir or Golgari control or midrange deck, would benefit from using Shrouded Lore. While Shrouded Lore can be a decent inclusion in such decks, there are arguably better options available, such as Regrowth or Eternal Witness, which offer more consistent and direct value without relying on the opponent's choices. However, Shrouded Lore could still see play in more casual or niche graveyard-centric strategies looking for unique and interactive gameplay elements.

This is the timeshifted version of Forgotten Lore.

You target an opponent when you cast Shrouded Lore. The opponent chooses a card in your graveyard as Shrouded Lore resolves. After that choice is made, you’re given the option to pay . If you do, the targeted opponent must choose a different card, if there is one. (If there isn’t one, this part is skipped.) Then you’re given the option to pay again. As long as you keep paying , the process continues. As soon as you decline to pay , the last card that was chosen by the opponent is put into your hand.
