Splinter, Aging Champion fits best in white midrange or blink/value decks that can repeatedly exile and return creatures (like with Ephemerate, Teleportation Circle, or Restoration Angel), since re-triggering the enter-the-battlefield destruction turns it into steady removal, while sacrifice or blink synergies can also control when you get the leave-the-battlefield card draw; it’s especially solid in Commander where political draw (“you and another target player”) can build alliances, and in slower Standard/Pioneer-style midrange shells that want flexible interaction stapled to a body. That said, at three mana and only destroying a *tapped* creature, it’s weaker than staples like Skyclave Apparition (hits any nonland permanent with mana value ≤4), Brutal Cathar (repeatable creature removal in aggressive shells), or even classic removal like Fateful Absence, so competitively it would likely be fringe unless the metagame is very combat-focused and tap-heavy; overall it’s playable in syne
