Thorn Thallid fits well in a green-based deck that focuses on counter manipulation, token generation, or a +1/+1 counter strategy, as its ability to deal damage can be leveraged in a deck that can easily generate or utilize spore counters. While it offers a unique ability, there are arguably better options for dealing damage, such as Chandra, Pyromaster or Lightning Helix, which provide immediate impact without the need for counter management. Ultimately, Thorn Thallid could see play in a casual or thematic deck, but in competitive environments, it may be outclassed by more efficient damage-dealing options.
