A deck that focuses on casting multiple spells per turn, such as a spell-heavy control or tempo deck, would benefit from using Thunder Drake as it can quickly grow in power with +1/+1 counters. While Thunder Drake can be a strong addition to such a deck, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, such as Crackling Drake which provides card advantage in addition to growing in power. Overall, Thunder Drake could see play in the right deck but may not be a staple in every blue deck.

Thunder Drake’s ability can trigger only once each turn. The ability will resolve before the second spell resolves. It doesn’t matter if the first spell you cast that turn has resolved, was countered, or is still on the stack.
