Timeline Inquiry would fit best in a blue tempo or creature‑centric deck that consistently has multiple small creatures in play—such as blue‑white tokens, blue‑green tempo, or a go‑wide strategy—because tapping creatures with total power 2 to enable full value makes it effectively a four‑mana instant‑speed “draw three” with no drawback, which is strong if you can afford not to attack that turn. However, in most competitive formats there are more efficient and reliable options: **Fact or Fiction**, **Memory Deluge**, **Behold the Multiverse**, or even **Chart a Course** and **Thirst for Discovery** often provide card selection or raw advantage without requiring board presence, and pure draw like **Concentrate** or **Quick Study** avoids the conditional discard clause. Because Timeline Inquiry depends on having creatures and effectively costs four mana (or weakens if you don’t use Teamwork), it would likely see play only in a dedicated creature‑heavy blue deck that can reliably enable it
