The Witherbloom Pledgemage would be a great addition to a Golgari midrange or control deck that focuses on gaining incremental life and leveraging instant and sorcery spells for value. While it can provide some life gain, there are potentially better options like Tarmogoyf or Scavenging Ooze for creature threats, and cards like Tireless Tracker or Dark Confidant for card advantage. Overall, the Pledgemage could see play in a specific build, but there are stronger choices available for competitive decks.
