A new year has started, and the pandemic still doesn't show signs of retreating that much... so how about taking advantage of this new cycle that begins to explore new options to play Magic Online for free or in other alternative and fun ways?

At the beginning of 2021, we made a articlelink outside website explaining how the free tournaments in MTGO worked at the time, with an agenda for you to follow. As a few things have changed since then, I present below our updated calendar with all the free tournaments that we currently have on the Cards Realmlink outside website and on Gatherlinglink outside website websites, which are the two main platforms that organize these tournaments:

Preparation and Platforms

To participate in one of these events is simple, just have an MTGO account and a legal deck in the specific format, as well as an account on the mentioned sites.

These websites are free to register, and an account on MTGO costs only 5 dollars to play at will. As for the decks, you have the option of renting up to 5 TIX for free at Cardhoarderlink outside website and, if your goal is to start spending nothing or just a few bucks, I recommend that you go little by little, winning prizes in the events; in some, like tribal apocalypse, you don't even need to win, just reaching specific goals already guarantees some tix to be able to buy new cards for your collection.

The Free Tournaments Schedule
