Bloombrute fits Selesnya lifegain decks, especially Commander shells led by Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, Amalia Benavides Aguirre, or Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant, where repeatable lifegain from creatures, tokens, and lifelink can turn its once-per-turn trigger into reliable card advantage; granting trample and lifelink is also useful for making a large creature connect and immediately enabling the draw. At four mana, however, it is likely too slow for competitive Constructed unless its power and toughness are exceptional, and the six-mana activation is mostly a late-game mana sink. The Gaffer is generally a better comparable card for slower lifegain decks because it costs one less and draws at each end step in which you gained at least two life, while Dawn of Hope can be better in token-focused lists because it converts lifegain into both cards and bodies.
