Ravenous Codex would benefit a five-color Commander deck built around creatures that can prepare spells and a high density of prepared instants and sorceries, especially if those spells generate value from being copied; however, its {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} activation cost is extremely demanding, it requires a specific board of qualifying creatures, and the card is vulnerable as a creature, so it is more of a casual build-around than a generally powerful inclusion. For broader and more reliable spell-copying, `Lithoform Engine` is usually better because it can copy almost any instant or sorcery without requiring prepared creatures, while `Twinning Staff` is better in decks that already copy spells frequently and `Isochron Scepter` is better for repeatedly reusing cheap instants. Ravenous Codex should see play only in a dedicated casual or Commander “prepared spells” deck; it would not be worth including in ordinary constructed or high-powered lists unless the prepared-spell mechanic is exceptio
