About Root Out

Root Out, Sorcery, designed by Daniel Ljunggren first released in Apr, 2016 in the set Shadows over Innistrad and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of NZ$ 0.03.

A deck that focuses on controlling the board by removing key artifacts or enchantments while generating card advantage would benefit from including Root Out. However, there are more efficient options like Naturalize or Reclamation Sage that provide similar effects at a lower cost or with additional benefits. Root Out could see play in specific metagames where the Investigate ability is particularly valuable, but in general, there are better options available.

Rules

04/08/16

If you sacrifice a Clue for another card’s cost or effect, such as that of Angelic Purge or Tamiyo’s Journal, you can’t also pay and sacrifice it to draw a card.

04/08/16

The token is named Clue and has the artifact subtype Clue. Clue isn’t a creature type.
