Ossification could be beneficial in a control deck that aims to temporarily remove a threat while also enhancing one of its own lands. However, there are potentially better options available, such as Banishing Light or Oblivion Ring, which offer more versatile removal options without the risk of losing the exiled creature if Ossification is removed. Overall, Ossification may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its limitations compared to other removal spells.
