„Imp's Mischief“ ist besonders nützlich in Kontroll- oder Combo-Decks, die darauf angewiesen sind, die Schlüsselzauber des Gegners zu stören, insbesondere solche, die auf deine Kreaturen oder deinen Lebenspunktestand abzielen, sodass du schädliche Effekte umlenken und gleichzeitig potenziell einen Vorteil erlangen kannst. Es gibt zwar Alternativen wie „Ablenkender Schlag“ oder „Misdirection“, die ebenfalls Ziele ändern können, sie erfüllen jedoch möglicherweise nicht immer die gleichen Manakosten oder Farbanforderungen. „Imp's Mischief“ sollte in Decks zum Einsatz kommen, die Lebensverluste effektiv bewältigen können und die Kontrolle über das Spiel behalten wollen, aber seine Einbeziehung würde von der Gesamtstrategie und der Synergie des Decks abhängen.
