Darksteel Gargoyle can be a valuable addition to a control deck looking to stall the game and protect itself with an indestructible flyer. However, in most competitive Magic: The Gathering formats, the high cost of 7 mana makes it difficult to justify including in a deck when there are more efficient and impactful options available, such as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Baneslayer Angel. Overall, Darksteel Gargoyle may not see much play in top-tier decks due to its high mana cost and limited impact compared to other options.
