A deck that focuses on controlling the board and removing key threats would benefit from including Keepsake Gorgon, as it provides a strong removal option with deathtouch and the ability to destroy a non-Gorgon creature when it becomes monstrous. However, there are potentially better options available, such as Noxious Gearhulk, which offers a similar removal effect with lifegain and a larger body. Whether Keepsake Gorgon should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, but it can be a solid inclusion in the right build.

An ability that triggers when a creature becomes monstrous won’t trigger if that creature isn’t on the battlefield when its monstrosity ability resolves.

Once a creature becomes monstrous, it can’t become monstrous again. If the creature is already monstrous when the monstrosity ability resolves, nothing happens.
