Polukranos, Unchained wäre eine starke Ergänzung zu einem Golgari Midrange- oder Friedhof-fokussierten Deck in Magic: The Gathering, da es eine vielseitige Bedrohung bietet, die an Stärke gewinnen und gegnerische Kreaturen entfernen kann. Während es möglicherweise nicht die absolut beste Karte in jeder Situation ist, machen seine Fähigkeit, wiederholt gegen Kreaturen zu kämpfen, und seine Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Schaden es zu einer soliden Wahl für Decks, die das Spielbrett kontrollieren und Druck ausüben möchten. Andere Karten wie Questing Beast oder Voracious Hydra können eine ähnliche Nützlichkeit bieten, aber Polukranos kann immer noch in bestimmten Metaspielen und Strategien einen Platz finden.
