This Bloodfire Expert card would be a great fit in a red aggressive deck that focuses on casting a lot of noncreature spells to trigger its prowess ability and pump up its power. While it can be a solid inclusion in decks looking to close out games quickly, there are potentially better options like Monastery Swiftspear or Soul-Scar Mage that offer similar effects with additional benefits. Ultimately, the decision to include Bloodfire Expert would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, but it could definitely see play in the right context.

Any spell you cast that doesn’t have the type creature will cause prowess to trigger. If a spell has multiple types, and one of those types is creature (such as an artifact creature), casting it won’t cause prowess to trigger. Playing a land also won’t cause prowess to trigger.

Once it triggers, prowess isn’t connected to the spell that caused it to trigger. If that spell is countered, prowess will still resolve.
