About Contract Token
Contract Token, Token enchantment — aura, designed by Brian Valeza first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven Commander Tokens.
**Contract Token** is a political, aggression-leaning Aura that fits best in multiplayer Commander decks that want to incentivize attacking opponents rather than you—especially “goad,” group slug, or pillow‑fort strategies that redirect combat elsewhere. It works reasonably well in aggressive red decks that consistently attack other players, but as an Aura it carries inherent risk (card disadvantage if the creature is removed), and the +2/+0 boost is modest for the cost. In most cases there are stronger alternatives: **Rancor** (cheap, recurring, and grants trample), **All That Glitters** (massive scaling in artifact/enchantment decks), **Goad** cards like **Disrupt Decorum** (force attacks without risking an Aura), or equipment like **Embercleave** (much higher impact and resilience). Because of the low stat boost and conditional drawback, this card would likely be fringe at best and generally outclassed in competitive or even optimized casual play.
