Dig Through Time is a powerful card that would benefit control decks looking to dig deep into their library for specific answers or win conditions. While it can be a great card advantage engine, its high mana cost may make it too slow for more aggressive decks. Other cards like Fact or Fiction or Thirst for Knowledge may offer similar card selection at a lower cost, making them potentially better options depending on the deck's strategy and mana curve. Overall, Dig Through Time has the potential to see play in certain control decks that can support its delve cost efficiently.

The rules for delve have changed slightly since it was last in an expansion. Previously, delve reduced the cost to cast a spell. Under the current rules, you exile cards from your graveyard at the same time you pay the spell’s cost. Exiling a card this way is simply another way to pay that cost.

You can’t exile cards to pay for the colored mana requirements of a spell with delve.
