About Lord of the Pit

Lord of the Pit, Creature — demon, designed by Mark Tedin first released in Aug, 1993 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 20 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 0.42.

A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a black sacrifice deck or a reanimator strategy, would benefit from including Lord of the Pit. However, there are better options available in the current Magic: The Gathering card pool, such as Griselbrand or Razaketh, the Foulblooded, which provide powerful effects without the drawback of having to sacrifice a creature each turn. While Lord of the Pit has a nostalgic appeal for some players, it may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high cost and downside.

Rules

11/17/17

If you control any other creatures as Lord of the Pit’s triggered ability resolves, you must sacrifice one. You can’t choose to be dealt 7 damage instead.

11/17/17

If you have two Lords of the Pit, you can sacrifice them to each other.
