About Marooned
Marooned, Enchantment — aura, designed by Joel Chaim Holtzman first released in Aug, 2026 in the set Star Trek.
Marooned fits blue tempo, control, or artifact-centric Limited decks that need a cheap answer to a creature or artifact, especially when repeatedly tapping it is effectively removal; the optional `{3}` makes it flexible early but lets it immediately lock down an untapped threat later. In most Constructed formats, though, it is probably weaker than `Unable to Scream` or `Witness Protection` against creatures because those cost only `{U}` and remove the creature's relevant abilities, while `Tamiyo's Compleation` is a stronger four-mana analogue when you specifically need to disable either an artifact or creature and its activated abilities. Marooned should be playable in Limited, particularly if “beamed up” means bounced or otherwise rescued, but it is unlikely to see broad Constructed play unless that protection is especially valuable in its format or the deck strongly benefits from cheaply targeting artifacts.
